Other States Randolph Chenoweth, the son of William Pugh, was probably the first of the family to leave West Virginia. In 1850 he is found in Kentucky, beginning a trek which would take him to Iowa and finally Oregon by 1870. Gabriel, the only child of the 2nd generation to leave West Virginia went to Illinois in the 1850s, taking with him his younger daughters. Then 1880 Census would find his lines in Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Kentucky and Texas. In all the lines of John have spread to a total of 12 states by 1880.
