MARSHALL(7) 1833-1911

Marshall and his twin brother John K. were born in Randolph Co., VA (now WV), the first children of John Kittle Chenoweth and his wife Sarah K. 'Sally' Stalnaker. His twin brother apparently died before adulthood, but Marshall married Eliza Jane 'Liza' Weese, on June 20, 1856 in Randolph County. She was the daughter of Jacob Weese, III and Judith Crouch. Marshall and Liza lived their entire lives in Randolph County, dying just 3 months apart, in 1911. They had 11 children, 8 of them reaching adulthood. Marshall was a farmer with property on Eliot Ridge, near Elkins, Randolph Co., WV. He is buried in the IOOF, Midland cemetery, south of Elkins, Randolph Co., WV. Descendants of Marshall and Liza still reside in Randolph County as part of the Chenoweth family's over 200-year presence there.
