RICHARD BEASMAN(4) 1765-1846

Richard Beasman was the second son of Arthur Chenoweth and Ann Beasman born January 08, 1765 in Baltimore Co., MD. He married Sarah Belt on February 09, 1790 in Baltimore Co. She is the apparent daughter of Leonard Belt and Hannah Parrish. They had a large family, listing each in their bible record, but only four of their 12 children lived to marry. Most of these, except for the children of his son Henry, who went to Illinois after Henry's untimely early death, stayed in the Baltimore area. Richard was a blacksmith by trade and had a successful business in Baltimore consisting of shops and forges. He invented plow improvements on which he obtained patents in 1808 and 1838. Richard Beasman died on April 20, 1846 at the age of 81. His wife, Sarah died two year later on Sarah Belt. Both are buried in the Greenmount cemetery, Baltimore, MD
